Bali lived up to all expectations, Seminyak was ultra cool and laid back with luxurious villas and modern restaurants and Ubud was exactly what you picture Bali to be like – eat, pray, love! It really was like the best of both worlds, there were so many pictures taken here I couldn’t show all our experiences but I cherry picked out the ones that reflect both parts of the island perfectly.
We stayed in Uma Sapna in Seminyak, which was like nowhere I’d ever stayed before I didn’t want to leave, we were upgraded to a room with a larger pool, bliss!! It was a quick stay, only 2 nights but we managed to get into two of the “it” restaurants/beach clubs, Potato Beach Club and Ku De Ta, both of which are definitely worth checking out, but Ku De Ta was my personal favourite.
We then moved onto Ubud for 3 nights, this was more cultural we got to explore museums, the art work was beautiful I really wanted to bring some home, but no way would they have fitted in the luggage, we had to go to Monkey Forest of course! it was great, especially for the animal lover I am!
I wanted to do something active whilst there, so I booked to go Canyon Tubing, this was so much fun, you basically just float down the canyon in a rubber ring (its very sturdy) and take in the natural beauty, it was all going so well until I fell in right before we finished, but you never mind falling in when you’re in hot places! We stayed at the most beautiful, natural, relaxed hotel possible, Bambu Indah. It is an eco boutique hotel, the pictures look great, but still don’t do it justice, its so tranquil and everyone is so chilled out, they also cook the most amazing meals, definitely top of any other hotel I have stayed at, with its own natural swimming pool and breathtaking views!
Another tip for Ubud, check out the dance shows, we saw one in the Palace, and it was an amazing way to take in their culture!!
